THE SEARCH FOR VOLUNTEERS HAS ENDED
We are looking for active and motivated volunteers to work at Helsinki Photography Biennial 2014. HPB14 is series of events taking place across Helsinki from March 27 to May 14. The biennial presents contemporary photo and lens based art from Finland as well as as other countries.
There is interesting work available in different areas of the event. You can participate in the following activities: mounting and demounting of exhibitions, making small translations, customer service, distributing posters and flyers, hosting international guests, documenting events (photography, video), transportation and seminar and opening arrangements.
Work stations include, the exhibition space L3 Warehouse in the Jätkäsaari harbor, Photographic Gallery Hippolyte in Punavuori and the Finnish Museum of Photography in Ruoholahti.
The minimum amount of work is four shifts. One shift is about 2-8 hours, depending on the task. The need for volunteers is the greatest during the opening week March 24-29, but we will need help before and after that as well.
As a volunteer, you get valuable experience of working in an art festival and an opportunity to network with people in the art field. This year, you also get the unique chance to be a member of our first ever volunteer team. You can be involved in the development of the volunteering program from the very beginning.
In exchange for the active contribution, we offer our volunteers coffee/lunch vouchers during each working day, an invitation to the opening party, the HPB14 publication, tickets to the HPB14 exhibition at The Finnish Museum of Photography, invitation to a post biennial party, and a letter of reference upon request.
We’ll organize an information evening for all volunteers in March.
